At the Climate Camp 2019, we will for the first time offer our own programme for young people that specifically addresses the needs and interests of people between the ages of 6 and 16. We would like to address not only the children of adult camp participants, but also young people from the surrounding villages in the coal mining area. In addition, we would like to reach the local climate/environment youth groups from Cologne, Düsseldorf, Aachen, Mönchengladbach, Neuss etc.. With a varied environmental education programme consisting of workshops, excursions and interactive activities, we would like to make the Climate Camp an extracurricular place of education and learning. The children and young people should be able to explore complex topics such as climate change, land use conflicts, global agriculture, energy supply or post-growth in a playful and age-appropriate way. They should learn why environmental protection and global justice are important and how they can work for a better world for all people.
The exact programme is currently being prepared and will follow shortly.
